A bizarre road rage incident in Mississauga Thursday night has police asking for witnesses to come forward to help with their investigation.
At around 11:oo p.m., a group of motorcyclists were travelling westbound on Highway 401 approaching the Dixie Road exit, when a vehicle attempted to get around them.
According to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt, it appears the motorcyclists were blocking the lanes.
“During that time, as the vehicle tried to get up, there was some interaction between the motorcyclists and the car. There was some damage sustained by some mischief to the car.”
Both the vehicle and the group exited at Dixie Road, and the female driver got out of the vehicle and it’s alleged she was assaulted.
At this point, the male passenger got into the drivers seat, and took off southbound on Dixie Road, leaving the woman behind, and the motorcyclists followed.
Shortly afterwards, it appears the driver lost control of the vehicle and rolled into a retaining wall.
The vehicle then burst into flames and driver was able to get out in time, and only sustained minor injuries.
All injuries are said to be minor. No word on any charges.
