You’ll need to plan on taking an alternate route if your weekend plans include a trip on the Gardiner Expressway.
The expressway will be closed between Carlaw Avenue and Highway 427/Queen Elizabeth Way from 11:00 p.m. Friday, October 21 to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24 for annual fall maintenance, and a full closure is needed to ensure the safety of the public as well as the workers involved.
Crews will tackle a variety of tasks including resurfacing and repairs, shoulder re-grading, paving, sign installation, inspection and chipping of 15 bridges between Jameson Avenue west to Kipling Avenue, and pavement line painting.
To accommodate traffic on nearby alternate routes, such as Lake Shore Blvd and the Queensway, changes will be made to the traffic-signals to help with smooth traffic flow.
