Bill Murray came to the rescue of one Cubs fan without a ticket for Game 6 of the World Series.
Karen Michel from Indiana was lined up at the Cleveland box office, hoping there was an extra ticket. After getting the bad news the game was sold out, Michel spotted Bill Murray among the crowd and decided to follow him.
Luck was obviously on her side. She says the actor turned around and offered her the ticket.
“He turns around and says: ‘Here, here’s a ticket,'” she recalled to MLB.com. “He kind of shuttled me into the door. I thought it was just a ticket to get in. But it was a ticket to sit right here.”
Michel ended up sitting right beside Murray in a section with other celebrity Cubs fans, including Eddie Vedder, Chris Chelios, and Al Roker.
She chatted with Murray about their experiences cheering for the Cubs over the years, who haven’t won a World Series in 108 years.
Luck was on the Cubs’ side as well in Game 6, who defeated the Indians 9-3 to force a Game 7 tonight.
