Photo radar is definitely a divisive topic BUT what if it was limited to school zones? John Tory asked the Ontario government to bring back photo radar to Toronto to help with policing costs and Premier Kathleen Wynne has answered that request.
Today the Premier announced new legislation empowering municipalities to install safety cameras near schools to curb speeding and protect pedestrians and cyclists. Wynne says the bill would allow municipalities to introduce it on municipal roads, in school zones and community safety zones.
The photo radar would take pictures of the licence plates of drivers who are speeding.
