You’d think these guys would have planned to have a getaway car instead of do this…
Deal, New Jersey authorities say two men cabbed to a home they planned to rob, but then never paid the driver. After being stiffed on the fare, the cabbie reported the two burglars to police.
According to police, the men had the driver wait outside the home, after which they emerged with a television and alcohol. The cabbie then drove the pair to an apartment in nearby Asbury Park, but never paid the fare.
The driver called Asbury Park police, who in turn notified Deal police about the robbery. Deal police say 46-year-old Kenneth Burke and 38-year-old Timothy Foote have been charged with burglary, conspiracy, theft, and criminal trespass. Their bail was set at $20,000.
