After every recording of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon runs through the crowd and high-fives the audience. But after a recent taping, he flubbed high-fiving one guy in the audience–who ended up being Blue Jays relief pitcher Joe Biagini.
When a number of people noticed the mistake and took to social media, Fallon invited the Jay back on the show to redeem himself.
Biagini is known for his sense of humour and quirky post-game interviews that sometimes involves him trying to hug teammates and sportscasters. He had a 4-3 record with a 3.06 ERA during the regular season for the Blue Jays, and pitched 7⅓ scoreless innings during the Jays’ playoff run.
