If you’re headed down the QEW to Niagara Falls this time of year, normally you’ll be greeted by the annual Winter Festival of Lights.
But starting Thursday, the Falls themselves will have new, energy-efficient LED lights, giving them twice the brightness level than with the existing Xenon lighting. The lights have 1800 colour combinations, and are able to cut through the mist to create a more vivid holiday display. The lighting upgrade cost $4 million, paid for by The Niagara Falls Illumination Board.
The brand new display will light up the Falls on Thursday December 1, starting at 6:10pm.
