On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert was joined by Michael Stipe and James Franco to rehash some of 2016’s worst moments in a spoof of the R.E.M. classic, “It’s The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine).”
Colbert did his best to imitate Stipe’s rapid fire delivery from the song, with lines such as, “Oh, great, it starts with an outbreak, Zika, and Harambe.”
Vladimir Putin, Ken Bone (the red sweater fellow from the Presidential debates), and of course, Donald and Melania Trump were also featured in the parody.
Stipe was featured later as a guest, and talked about the 25th anniversary reissue of R.E.M.’s Out of Time LP, and the book he wrote without any words.
