It started off as any flight junket would doing press for her latest series, making friends abroad because that’s the kind of person Carrie Fisher was but on the flight back from London to Los Angeles things went terribly wrong. After landing the plane, she was rushed from LAX to UCLA Medical Centre emergency room and was taken to the ICU. Reports from the hospital and her mother Debbie Reynolds stated she was in stable condition on Christmas day, however on Boxing Day her daughter Billie Lourd sadly reported that her mother had pass away in the morning. Carrie’s family had been by her side since Christmas Day and died peacefully.
Carrie has one more appearance on screen as General Leia Organa. Principal shooting for Star Wars: Episode VIII has wrapped and will be released December 15th, 2017.
Update: Actress Debbie Reynolds has died at 84. Todd Fisher her son and Carrie’s brother said the “stress of his sister’s death was too much for Reynolds. “She’s now with Carrie and we’re all heartbroken,” Fisher said from Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre, where his mother was taken by ambulance earlier Wednesday.
