In a lopsided affair on Boxing Day, Houston Rockets’ Center Chinanu Onuaku got into his first career NBA game.
During his college days, he wasn’t known for his free throw shooting ability. But once he started doing the “Granny shot,” his numbers started improving.
After being fouled, Onuaku took his shooting strategy to the free throw line.
Onuaku said after the game he “was nervous as hell,” debuting his free throw style. But he was “just happy [he] made them.”
He finished with six points in over eight minutes of playing time as Houston cruised to a 131-115 victory over Phoenix. With the underhand shot, he is shooting 67.4 percent from the line in the D-League, and 100 percent in the NBA.
