After 12 seasons in the NBA and a fan favourite during his time in this city, Matt Bonner is retiring.
The “Red Rocket” got creative in making his announcement. He came out with a funny video, thanking the cities that helped him during his career including Toronto.
Bonner only played two seasons with the Raps, but definitely left a good impression on the city. He was nicknamed the “Red Rocket” in part because of his red hair, but also from taking the TTC to Raptors’ games.
Fun fact: he is the only Raptor to play in all 82 games of his rookie season.
He finishes his career, averaging 5.8 points/game, 3.0 rebounds/game, and 0.7 assists/game.
Congrats on your retirement, Red Rocket. All the best!
