WTH? A district school employee in Maryland has been fired for pointing out and having a little fun with a student’s spelling error on Twitter. “Nathan” tweeted “@FCPSMaryland close school tammarow PLEASE”.
Katie Nash who was a social media manager for the school district responded by tweeting on their behalf with “but then how would you learn how to spell ‘tomorrow’? :)”. The tweet has since been deleted.
She was right in what she said but apparently the school district felt differently and fired her. She says it happened very quickly. They asked for her badge and ID and handed her a letter and that was it, employment terminated.
Students have been coming to her defence and there’s a petition to get her job back.
