A farmer from the Windsor area had the opportunity to take her hydro bill concerns from Facebook to Premier Kathleen Wynne on Wednesday.
Libby Keenan says she’s among thousands of Ontarians struggling with soaring hydro prices.
Keenan previously wrote a Facebook post saying the most recent bill for her farm, with several horses and no machinery, totalled nearly 600 dollars. It was shared more than 21,000 times.
Media were invited to a portion of the meeting between both parties.
“How much do I have to pay for the privilege of shovelling manure seven days a week?” Keenan said during the meeting. She later told reporters she was pleased with their discussions.
Premier Wynne says she will not be waiting until the budget to announce further relief measures over rising bills.
The government recently brought in an 8 per cent rebate on electricity bills as of January 1st.
