Neil Young, Jackson Browne, and members of Rush will be presenting at the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductions on April 7.
Neil Young will introduce Pearl Jam, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will welcome Yes, and Jackson Browne will induct Joan Baez.
These three 2017 inductees share close ties with the artists introducing them. Neil Young has worked with Pearl Jam in the past, and has performed with the band live. Pearl Jam played on Young’s 1995 album, Mirror Ball, and have shared mutual admiration for years. Rush and Yes were leaders in the evolution of progressive rock in the 1970s and 80s. When Rush was inducted in 2013, Geddy Lee voiced his disappointment that Yes wasn’t in the Hall with them. Meanwhile, Joan Baez has recorded several Jackson Browne tracks throughout her career, and the pair have performed together live at various times.
Neil Young was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1995 — interestingly, by Eddie Vedder. Browne entered the Hall in 2004.
