The month of February is going out on a wet note.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto and surrounding areas with regards to the amount of rain expected over the next 24 hours or so.
Rain is expected to start up late Tuesday morning and continue into Wednesday afternoon, before tapering off.
Anywhere from 15-25 millimeters of precipitation is expected, which the agency says isn’t overly significant, but the ground may not be able to absorb it all thanks to recent melting snow.
Ponding of water may occur along the roads and highways.
Caution is always advised near creeks and ponds, which could possibly overflow with all the rain.
