You may or may not have heard that all is not well in the Heart camp. In a nutshell and what it boils down to is a family feud that began on the last night of Heart’s tour last October when a couple of Nancy’s kids wanted to see the inside of a new tour bus. Ann’s significant other Dean Wetter took the kids but warned them to keep the doors shut or the dogs would escape. Well the teenagers left the door open for the dogs to escape and Wetter lost it on the boys, laying his hands on them hurting and scaring them. Nancy’s camp was not happy and since then the band has been on hiatus with Nancy forming her own band Roadcase Royale and Ann billing herself on tour as “Ann Wilson of Heart”
According to Rolling Stone magazine, Nancy said recently, ” “I just know in my gut that me and Ann are going to be fine. We love each other and we’ve weathered all kinds of stuff in the past together no one would ever imagine and this is just one of those things. We just don’t need the high school drama swirling around the camp. We just need to talk to each other.”
Seattlepi.com reported Friday (April 14th ) that Dean Wetter pleaded guilty March 9 to two counts of assault. He was sentenced as part of a plea deal to 364 days in jail, with all the time suspended. Wetter will pay restitution, be on probation, undergo counselling and have no contact with the boys.
