Late Saturday night we heard the sad news that Erin Moran (Joanie) from the successful 70s sitcom “Happy Days” passed away. It struck a chord with many of us from that generation because we were able to relate to her as that cute, mischievous younger sister of Richie Cunningham. It aired every Tuesday night and I never missed an episode. I vividly remember the one where Joanie had a crush on Potsie and he sang “Put Your Head on my Shoulder” to her. When people pass from our generation it brings us face to face with our own mortality and we suddenly realize that we are here for only a certain amount of time. Even though her circumstances weren’t the best in the end, she did make a difference in so many lives by giving us memories from our childhood that we will never forget. I still watch an occasional episode and it always makes me smile. Erin, we will remember you as that adorable little girl with spunk on one of our favourite shows growing up.
