WATCH ABOVE: United Airlines has reached a settlement with Dr. David Dao, the passenger who was dragged off one of its flights earlier this month. The airline also announced policy changes triggered by Dao’s violent removal from the plane.
The man dragged off a United Airlines plane earlier this month has settled with the airline for an undisclosed amount, according to reports.
A condition of the settlement is that the amount remains confidential, the document states.
Dao, 69, was seated on a United Airlines plane in Chicago with his wife, destined for Kentucky, when the airline asked for passengers to volunteer to leave the overbooked plane. When no one voluntarily left their seat, the airline selected Dao and his wife to be bumped from the flight; Dao refused.
Dao was then forcibly removed. Videos taken by other passengers showing Dao being dragged off the plane, battered and bloody, sparked outrage around the globe.
