Early in June, public access television PBS will air an hour long BBC documentary titled “Sgt. Peppers Musical Revolution” focusing on the album’s creation and the behind the scenes evolution of the record as well as the cultural legacy it has garnered since it’s release. According to the BBC, the 60 minute special will cover “material never before accessible outside of Abbey Road Studios including recordings of studio chat between the Beatles and isolated instrumental and vocal tracks and revealing the nuts and bolts of how the album came together offering insights into the choices made by the band members and Sir George Martin”.
The show will be hosted by long-time BBC host Howard Goodall and airs June 3rd.
