The Wacken Open Air festival, a festival for heavy metal fans in northern Germany, is building a beer pipeline.
Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein is a tiny town with a population of about 1800 and the festival in August is pretty huge. They are expecting about 75,000 to pack the town and festival. That’s a lot of people to serve.
Organizers of the festival are building its first ever beer pipeline to transport about 400,000 litres of beer to the concert grounds. This pipeline system will speed things up so concert-goers don’t have to wait so long. Bartenders will be able to draw six beers per second.
