On May 9th 2017, Canada Post unveiled a stamp commemorating the 2005 passage of the Civil Marriage Act, which made marriage equality the law throughout Canada. The unveiling was held in partnership with The 519, a City of Toronto agency committed to the health, happiness and full participation of LGBTQ communities.
To celebrate this incredible moment in Canadian history, Canada Post will be participating in the Toronto Pride Parade for the first time on Sunday, June 25, with a Canada Post truck that has been wrapped with images of the Marriage Equality stamp.
Canada 150 Program: The Marriage Equality stamp is one of ten commemorative stamps celebrating Canada 150. Each stamp was unveiled separately to celebrate Canada’s most unforgettable moments in the from the past 50 years.
