More than 500 000 volunteers in 10 European countries were surveyed. People who drank 2 to 4 cups a day had an 18% lower risk of death from heart disease, diabetes or even cancer compare to people who did not drink coffee.
This study was done by the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition over 16 years.
An estimated 2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed somewhere in the world each day so drink up!
