Opening acts Oh Susanna, The Sadies, and The Skydiggers set the tone for the starry night and definitely impressed any new fans that night.
Remember all those summer nights spent with the simple pleasures of good company and great music that shaped everlasting memories? Many of those memories came to life for Blue Rodeo fans and they just couldn’t help but sing at the top of their lungs to every note.
Blue Rodeo performed many of their greatest hits and squeezed in some new material, including “5 Days in May”, “Cynthia”, “What Am I Doing Here”, “After the Rain Hasn’t Hit Me Yet”, and “I Can’t Hide it Anymore”.
Halfway through the set, the aisles were filled with lighters in the air and strangers dancing side by side, singing along to Blue Rodeo’s powerful lyrics in “Bad Timing”. Another highlight of the night included all band members – Jim Cuddy, Greg Keelor, Bazil Donovan, Glenn Milchem, Bob Egan, and Mike Boguski – jamming out on stage to a cover of Lee Hazlewood’s “The Railroad” as if the audience were hanging out on Keelor’s farm.
These Canucks sure know how to make you feel like home.
