fares are set to rise. Proposed 25 cent increase to make a dent on a 100 million dollar loss. This would raise 40 million. I take the streetcar everyday so this would include me.
You? Do you use the better way?
The answer from yesterday was in fact vigorous exercise. No joke. If I knew how to insert a link using a mac I would. I read it in a newspaper, so it must be true.

I don't understand what is happening to all of the revenue from the advertising on vehicles and stations. I was in the Downsview station and was being solicted by visa card sales people! I am not sure i want to pay more for that.

I normally take Brampton or Missisauga which is already $3. What I would like to see is a universal transfer across the board. TTC feels they are too superior for this though (It took years just to achieve the GTA pass).

I think I'll start working from home. Being a single Mom, it costs me $$$$ the moment I step out the door. My rent is going up an additional $20/mth, groceries are always costing me more and now more money is needed to get on the bus. One thing that's not going up is my paycheque to cover all the additional expenses. When will the madness end?????

I'll take the cattle-car only if I have to go downtown for a reason,a game, meeting etc.... otherwise it's a bit of a downer mingling with smelly, offensive people that never use a bar of soap or have any social skills.

The raise in price is appropriate.

When I worked downtown I did use it, now I work in Oakville and it doesn't go there. I am concerened about students and thise less fortunate like senior citizens not being able to afford this. You of course know that in the U.K. seniors get free travel

Hi Alex, I don't mind paying more to ride the rocket, BUT , I don't think The people working for the TTC , on any level, should get any kind of raise or bonus. In fact they should be taking cuts in pay like the Auto sector did .

I don't live in downtown & I drive to & from work. But...when I do go downtown for Dr. appts., I use the subway & streetcar. It's too bad I wonder if everyone will get a raise to keep up with the rising costs??? Methinks...no.

Vigorous exercise as addictive as Heroin? I've done many marathons, triathlons and even an Ironman ... tons of training ... I never once found it addictive, let alone as addictive as Heroin, ... but I think I often looked, or felt, as bad as that girl did.

I live very close to the Kipling Subway Station where there is also a Kipling GO which I made the decision to take a long time ago. I pay $136.00 for the monthly pass and it is a 17 minute ride to Union Station. The Metro Pass is going to cost 125 (not sure) for a monthly pass and it takes me 1 hour to get downtown. So if you were in my shoes don't you think I have made the right choice. I am not saying the GO is perfect because there are train delays but I would rather take the GO anytime than take the TTC.

the ttc is invaluable, services need to be expanded and in comparison to other world class cities, we shouldn't complain

Hi Alex, I used public transport briefly a couple of years ago. My husband had been offered a job abroad and we began selling up in preparation for our move. After I sold my car I took public transport to work. The last time I had taken the TTC was about 20 years ago and I thought it expensive and the routes had become circuitous and confusing, the drivers surly and unhelpful, the passengers rude (feet on the seats, loud personal cellphone conversations and video games, passengers shouting abuse at the driver. All in all a dreadful experience that I would not wish to repeat. I miss the good things about living in Toronto, public transport definitely isn't one of them.
