Leno Redux?
Posted 11/3/2009 9:00:00 AM
Jay Leno's new show isn't doing too well. His move to the 10 o'clock timeslot isn't drawing good ratings, and already Jay's thinking twice about it. He told Broadcasting and Cable magazine that he would have rather stayed with the Tonight Show, and he'd take it again if NBC offered it to him. The network does have a problem; Conan O'Brien is now doing the show. Then there's the nasty business of trying to come up with programs to replace the Jay Leno Show. Two questions: are you watching the new show ? And would you like Jay back at the Tonight Show?

I never really got into watching Jay, I do not find him very entertaining. I do however admire his collection of cars...

I don't watch the night talk shows. Sorta glad Jay Leno didn't make it --maybe it's time for him to bow out, enjoy all that $$$$ he's rolling in & let someone else try to do it.

I don't watch Jay Leno. Don't like his persona, or the way he talks or chuckles. He just hasn't got it. Somebody ought to tell him to act like he owns what he's saying, instead of keep reading the cue cards in such an obvious way.

Only watch opening. He should be on at 11:00pm

I don't watch the late shows...but, I'm sorta glad it didn't work out for Jay Leno. Shouldn't he just bow out so he can rumble around in all the $$$ he's made?? Let someone else get their beginning.

Jay's had a long run. If the 10 o'clock spot goes south for him, then it's probably time to give it up. He seems a nice enough guy, funny and charming, but not especially talented. And he does terrible interviews. I've always liked Letterman, but his shtick is starting to grow tired, too. I think the most entertaining late-night guy out there is Craig Ferguson. He's fresh, spontaneous and bright. Mind you, I have to get up early so I rarely stay up to see them anyway.

Leno is putridly milquetoast wherever he goes. His best move, for humanity, was to leave Tonight; an even better move, for humanity, would be that he takes his annoying mug exclusively on the road and off the telly. BTW, I forced myself to watch parts of the new show in the first couple of weeks . . . Leno so bad; the show overall just egregiously sophomoric, dumb, derivative, complacent, unctuous, and platitudinous. And, yes, plain ole bad.

I only watch Leno and Conan if they have great guests. My favorite, Craig Ferguson, is by far the best show. I'll watch him even if I don't know the guest, because he's so funny and the questions never appear to be rehearsed like the others. You can always tell when Conan and Leno are setting the guests up for a question they new was about to be asked, especially when the guest is a comedian doing their pre-written jokes!

I think it is the biggest blunder in any one's carrer. He can't compete with a number of good shows on in that time slot.

NO & NO! Never liked Leno.

I was watching the show. But had to stop...something (or everything) is wrong. From the opening, to the stage, to the boring skits, it is not worth watching. I'd love to see Leno back on the Tonight Show, as he owned that time slot, but one must give Conan credit as he handling the Tonight Show just fine. Looks like a major screw up for NBC!

...nope, I don't watch him....that timeslot is usually occupied with a TV series I'd prefer to watch.....I usually only ever watched the Tonight Show when there was absolutely nothing else on, or if they had an interesting guest... ...OK, so if Leno got moved back to 11:30....why not have him run there on another network?...THEN we would see if Conan is popular or not.....personally, I don't like him, but I'm sure many people do...
