It's a wonderful time of the year.
Hallowe'en always brings out the best in people.
I mean that.
Well, at least the best, happiest versions of the people I've known. Folks just aren't as inclined to doubt themselves as much around Hallowe'en for some reason. People will get dressed up and look absolutely ridiculous with a self-confidence that is often lacking for the other 364 days of the year.
It's all in good fun, so why not?
As one of your hosts for this Friday's Q107 Hallowe'en Howl at the Sound Academy, I've been conferring with my co-workers about what we're all going to wear. If you're coming (and I hope you are), top prize is $2000 for the best costume of the night, so put on your creative hat and come up with something cool! We're all looking forward to having some fun with you.
I've finally picked my outfit and have to go hunting for the last parts of it later today. I've heard of some crazy ideas around the office, but I was curious as to what you've done in the past.
What is the wildest costume you (or your kids) have worn for Hallowe'en?

One year my boyfriend went as Doctor Ben Dover and I was his Nurse Hemmi Roid. He wore the Doctors surgical outfit and I wore the Nurses white lab coat with purple and red balloons stapled all over the coat and complete with the name badges and stethescopes, but best of all was his playtex gloves with brown shoe polish on the finger tips. We won best costume at a friends Halloween party that year.

I dressed up as a big bottle of Corona & my wife was a lime. We made our costumes with foam rubber & spray paint.

Mine have always been the classic arch-types although i did use my LIVE pet tarantula as an accessory for my witch costume one year. Weirdest i've seen was a guy wearing a giant tampon costume (i will not elaborate). And then there was the dude who showed up dressed as a 6 foot tall penis complete with condom of course...or was that a dream? No,no that happened ;)

One year I was the Invisible Man a la Claude Rains in that classic b&w film. Another I dressed up as the X-Men character Gambit. I put a lot of work in those costumes.

My wife convinced me to do the Dr. Frank-N-Furter get-up a few years ago. But, I took home $500.00 that night for best costume, so, no complaints!
