Questionable Benefits

Everyone wants a piece of you.

It's a simple rule of life you know and at least subconsciously live by, but nowhere is it more evident than in the world of rock & roll.

As a fan, you probably would go at least a little out of your way to get a copy of an album autographed, possibly even a picture of you with your favourite rock god.  You want a little piece.  That's natural.  On another level, that's also what your favourite rocker is hoping for.

There are others that go further.  Groupies definitely get their piece, and then some.

And years later, they write a book about it to cash in on the memories.

The latest entry in the tell-all derby is Miss O'Dell: My Hard Days and Long Nights with the Beatles, The Stones, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton and the Women They Loved by Chris O'Dell, a former groupie who worked for and around many of the legends of classic rock in the '60s and '70s.

One tale of note was her story of working for the Rolling Stones during their 1972 world tour.  As covered by ContactMusic, O'Dell alleges in the book that in the midst of all the work and being on-call 24/7, she had some additional "duties."

She writes, "If there had been a job description being employed by the Stones back then, I'm pretty sure it would have included a proviso that went something like this: Sleep with Mick whenever he asks."

That's some responsibility.

Chances are that your job doesn't make such demands on you.  What's the worst thing your boss has made you do at work?
