Just Kidding!
Pac was the Man
Posted 11/5/2009 11:11:00 AM
I was at my Dad’s house recently and found something I have not seen for years…..it was a portable pacman machine. I’m not sure if I’m describing it right so I thought I’d post a picture of it.

It took me back to the good ole days. We had pacman and galaga; I spent countless hours on that thing. I think it’s the simplicity of the graphics and the concept that I like so much about those old toys.

I’d love to hear about some of your favourite toys growing up?   I'm off to see if I can make it to level 5 on my new/old toy...there is nothing wrong with a grown man playing pacman all afternoon is there?

Hey...I get "PacMan Elbow" playing that damn game! I was an adult and should have known better, but it was addictive! I liked Galaxians and Asteroids as well.

Ryan, I'm glad you still have a memory for these things--mine is gone. I did have a doll that cried real water tears--not sure dolls had names back then--then Barbie came along.

Definitely, the game of Tetris on a hand held Nintendo Game Boy was the ultimate enjoyment!

We used to amuse ourselves for hours bouncing 2 balls up against the side of a brick wall. There was a song or songs you would sing while doing it. Can't remember the words. When we got older it was pinball games

There is definitely no shame in playing Pac-man all afternoon! We have this game in a place of honour in our basement. I used to sneak into my brother's room to play his Donkey Kong. Good times!

I used to love spinning top the kind you had to pump to get going.I recently saw one for sale on an antique toy site and I laughed when it stated "no batteries required".

Hey Ryan: I'm older than you, we didn't have computer type games. My favorite was the big yellow TONKA dump truck. Not the wimpy plastic ones made now,I'm talking the one made from real metal with sharp edges! lol. Oh yeah Hotwheels were cool too!
