Just Kidding!
from 'only fools rush in' to 'fools gold loaf'
Posted 7/26/2010 11:40:00 AM
This morning John told the story about Elvis Presley flying two hours in his private plane to Denver for a Fool's Gold Loaf. A Fools Gold Loaf is a sandwich made by the Colorado Mine Company, a restaurant in Denver. The sandwich consists of a single warmed, hollowed-out loaf of bread filled with one jar of creamy peanut butter, one jar of grape jelly, and a pound of bacon. That sounds awesome….have you ever eaten anything like that in your life? Do you have a dish you invented? One day I put ground beef, ketchup, onions and cheese on a waffle and washed it’s down with ice-cream and pieces of sugar cone for desert…..I’m sweating grape jelly just thinking about it.

Try buttering your toast and putting on peanut butter, then wrap it around a half of a banana. Best served when the toast are hot and they melt the peanut butter.

would that not be simiiliar to "cleaning the fridge out surprize", what ever leftovers there are in the frig goes into that dish

I invented my own sandwich as a kid..."peanut butter, cheese slice, mustard, bologna" and worst off I'd sing the ingredients as I made it just to gross out my siblings with more refined palettes

I can only say, don't knock it till you try it! In a similar vein, I used to have a fully stocked bar and tried mixing tequila, bourbon and Baileys with a disasterous effect that I had to clean up! Sad to say, I didn't learn my lesson and tried to invent other untried and gut wrenching cocktail recipes...
