This week seems defined by re-releases, including all the Indiana Jones films.  Take a look at what else is available for this week’s installment of New Stuff Tuesday!

Iron Maiden – Somewhere Back in Time: The Best Of: 1980-1989 – As the band enjoys a resurgence thanks to their “Somewhere Back in Time” world tour, they’ve released a set containing 14 of their best tracks between 1980 and 1989, mixing live and studio versions throughout.  They’ve also reissued their entire back catalogue again, in case you missed it the first couple of times.
Quiet Riot – Alive and Well (Reissue) – The 1999 live reunion album of the classic Quiet Riot line-up, including the late Kevin Dubrow, Franki Banali, Rudy Sarzo and Carlos Cavazo.  Check out the cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”

John Rutsey, Rush’s founding drummer, dead at 55.

John Rutsey, a founding member of Toronto rock band Rush, passed away this weekend according to Rush management company Anthem Entertainment. He was 55.

Rutsey was famous for playing on Rush’s 1974 debut album, including the song “In The Mood,” before deciding to leave the group due to health concerns. Rutsey suffered from diabetes and was unable to go on extended tours with the group.

Rutsey was replaced by dummer Neil Peart, which marked a turning point in the band’s sound towards progressive rock. 

Rush formed in 1968 in Toronto and was originally composed of guitarist Alex Lifeson, bassist Jeff Jones (who shortly thereafter was replaced by Geddy Lee) and Rutsey.

Club Q members get $10.70 tix to Bachman-Cummings show

If you’re worried you won’t be able to afford tickets to Q107’s presentation of Bachman-Cummings with special guest Kim Mitchell on Thursday July 19th at the Molson Amphitheatre, you need to join Club Q as soon as possible.

As announced today on Derringer in the Morning, Classic Rock Q107 is proud to provide a very special ticket price of $10.70 to the Bachman-Cummings show, but only to members of Q107.com’s Club Q.  The special ticket sale begins Thursday May 15th at 10 AM and lasts until the tickets are sold out.  Club Q members can expect an e-mail with further details on how to purchase these limited tickets.

Details on how to join Club Q can be found right on the Q107.com home page.  Normally priced tickets are available at a cost of $89.50, $79.50, $55.50 and $22.50, plus applicable taxes and service charges.
