Thin Lizzy Rock the Plymouth Pavilions

On a chilly Tuesday night, Thin Lizzy ventured into the southernmost reaches of the UK and delivered a scorching performance at Plymouth Pavilions guaranteed to enhance their already burgeoning reputation as one of the UK’s best live rock bands.

It’s been just over 12 months since this incarnation of Lizzy surprised the sh*t out of me at Bristol Colston Hall. Subsequent relentless touring throughout the UK, Europe and North America has cemented the band’s following and these guys are just getting better and better.

The band’s set has evolved to showcase Thin Lizzy’s entire song writing and performance arsenal, when instead they could easily have adopted a populist greatest hits list, simply duplicating Live and Dangerous. It’s a great move that highlights their class and also clears the way for them to dip their toes into writing and performing new material in the near future.

Lay Your Bets for Axl to Storm Off Irish Stage

Guns N' Roses have announced that they will be playing a gig at Dublin's O2 Arena on Thursday, 17th May, 2012.

Last time the band played the Irish capital back in September 2010 they took to the stage over an hour late. Then stormed off in a sulk after plastic cups were being thrown at the tardy rockers in protest at their late arrival. To be fair to the band they did return and complete the set after a further thirty minute break but many punters had to leave before then to get home.

So, not to miss a money-making opportunity Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has opened a book on the upcoming GnR gig.

You can get odds of 4/1 for fat Axl storming off stage and cutting the set short, or 10/1 for the gig being cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
