It's Eddie, Iggy and Alice Time!

This weekend sees me heading off to another awesome UK music festival. I know. It's a tough life! This time I'm off to Sonisphere at Knebworth, Hertfordshire to see headliners and mighty NWOBH rockers, the mighty Iron Maiden!
Other bands that jump out from the festival line-up include Motley Crue, Iggy and The Stooges, Q107's very own Saturday night DJ Alice Cooper, The Cult, Europe and awesome Australian fusion rockers Pendulum.
Tribute band the Fab Beatles are putting in a welcome appearance, I'll definitely be watching them on Sunday and I'm also hoping to get to the comedy tent to catch some of the UK's top comics in action.
Finally, I'll be taking part a new world record attempt - to get the most people simultaneously performing The Time Warp. Looks like fun!

'Hysteria is an Albatross' - Elliott

An upbeat Joe Elliott spared me a few minutes last Sunday at the High Voltage Festival to have a chat about his side project Down ‘N’ Outz and also answer a couple of questions about his day job in Def Leppard.
Sipping rather tasty Down’ N’ Outz 5.0% proof lager (see pic) specially produced for the band’s appearance at the festival Joe expressed his regret at the coverage Def Leppard has received from the UK music press; how he considered ‘Hysteria to be a kind of albatross hanging round his neck’; and where he plans, (or as it transpired doesn’t!) to go with Down ‘N’ Outz.
Rather prophetically he also mentioned that loss of power could be a problem at festivals, although I don’t think for one moment he thought it would be a deliberate act! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read my previous blog!
