To Play or Not to Play

The Lotto Max jackpot is $50 million. Here is the dilemma it's $5 a ticket. Might not sound like a lot but 5 bucks is 5 bucks. It's almost half of the day's parking, more than my cup of tea and bagel, almost the cost of a drink with friends tonight, about what we pay for a movie rental, 5 downloaded songs on itunes, I could go on. Paying $2 a ticket seems like no big deal but $5 not sure. BUT if I don't play the compnay lottery pool and they win am I going to be happy for them?

pay your $5. You never know and at least you'd feel like part of the team, winning or not!

I didn't know it cost $5.00 -- I asked for it, of course because it was 50 Million + extra $1,000,0000.00 cash awards. Interesting...it's the newest lottery & it just started & no one had won the $$ yet & it's reached the maximum in 5 weeks!!! Wow - I am dumb or what buying one...oh well -- if I win, that would be a miracle!!

I still think that it's a little bit suspicous that it got to the magic mark so quikly.Lucky for the OLG , they can show off all of the new games features with out making the public wait to long.

At $2.00 I used to buy 2 tickets with encore now it's only 1 ticket and sometimes encore. It's still $5.00 a week. If you don't play you can't win.

Dear Joanne, how about last Friday's Lotto Max Encore winner, a Group of 21 workmates in Mississauga , including myself have claimed the Prize of $1,000,000.oo. we all visited the prize centre on Dundas west, spent the day there, left without a cheque, still waiting to hear from OLG, there has not been a media announcement as of yet, This VIETNAM VETERAN is a very HAPPY Camper, been a listener since 77, Hardy Sr. (SEABEE) Play the ENCORE for a BUCK

I agree with Judy, I've always said they should have more winners instead of one extremely large winner and they should make the second and third place winners a little higher. My brother had one number short of the main prize, which was 21 million, he got about $2500! I also know I have a better chance of being hit by lightning than to win a lottery but, cannot resist a ticket here and there....a $2 ticket!!!....hmmm 50 million, maybe I should get just one!

Well Joanne....the bug just bit me!!!
Listening to you this morning and hearing the stories about how some of your listeners MISSED OUT on a lottery jackpot, forced me to pull the car over and buy a Lotto Max ticket. I just could NOT stand the thought of "my numbers" coming up tonight and me NOT having a ticket.
Well....good luck!!! If I don't win, hope you or one of your listeners strikes paydirt in tonight's draw!!!

Instead of having one person win $50 million, how about have 50 people win $1 million?

You are not alone. Their (the OLG) calculated plan to get more money out of us has backfired on them. If you look at the usual amount of second place winners when it was called Super7, and compare it to the three second place winners LottoMax have had (besides NO first place winners), compared to the regular multiple second place winners of Super7, this statistically proves that people are not willing to pay the $5 for the ticket. As Michael Moore once said, "Who is it who has the gambling problem?"

Sure historically Super 7 used to be only $2, and over 99.99% of us have never won anything past $10 or a free tix. Is there such a thing as Lottery Inflation? Do you believe in the saying, you can't win if you don't play? Well at least the payouts have gone up.
What I find disturbing is how anyone can actually win big 5 times and the lottery corp cannot detect fraud... but that’s another story.
In the meantime take solace that we’re buying the opportunity to dream, and anything else is just a bonus.
Joanne take a chance maybe tonight’s your lucky night. Bon Chance.

I think you would be happy for them, but also mad at yourself for not spending that $5! Would you rather have that drink with your fiends or millions of dollars? I vote for the latter of the two
