Here's something else rock fans have to thank Mick Jagger for: the fact that Joe Satriani is still doing his own tours and making his own records.
Satch recently revealed that while he was on his first solo tour back in '88, they were losing about $8,000 a week while playing two shows a night.
That's when he got a call to audition for a spot supporting Mick on his solo tour, and that gig took him to another level.
Mick gave him both full permission and the resources to promote himself as a solo artist, and also the advice "to take advantage of whatever you can, and most importantly, connect with the audience."
Joe says that that job pretty much may have saved his career. Oh, and he still gets star struck when he meets up with the Stones.
