What is up?

Hope all is well and you get a little time for yourself this weekend!

Here are some random thoughts for a Friday?

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
5. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least " kind of tired. "

6. Bad decisions make good stories.

7. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

Coffee CatastropheWhat is up?

Hope all is well. Ok… today’s topic is “Work Place Pet Peeve”. Everyday I come to work and before I settle in behind the board for another awesome edition of Derringer in the Morning, I make a fresh pot of coffee for the boys so it’s good to go for the morning. I am going to say 2-3 times a week the coffee station is a nightmare. Is it so hard to throw the used filter out? Why is the coffee pot overflowing and why is there coffee all over the table, and why has no one else noticed this. I feel like taking people’s noses and rubbing it into the Columbian nectar that has found its way out of the pot and is now mocking me to clean it up… which I do!

I ask you, what is your workplace pet peeve, and how ...

Liquor in the front! What is up?

Hope all is well with you! Next Tuesday on The Kim Mitchell Show, Ryan Parker and Maureen Holloway from Derringer in the Morning will be joining Kim for the 3rd annual “Don’t Drink and Drive Show” from the Three Brewers Pub on Young St.

Now, you all know that drinking and driving is one of the craziest things you can do. I will be filming a video for the show (you can watch the show online for all the backstage shenanigans at q107.com) about all the places you can drink that isn’t behind the wheel… so I ask you, where and when is your favorite place to kick back and let the liquor fly, and what is your adult drink of choice?

Long Live Arriving Alive!

The Power of ThreeWhat is up?

Hope all is well. We play a lot of great classic rock trio’s… Rush, Cream, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. They all have great players laying down the backbeat like Neil Peart, strong bass grooves from Jack Bruce, and virtuoso guitar playing from the master, Jimi Hendrix. So I was thinking… if you could pick your own classic rock power trio from anyone and everyone past or present from classic rock who would you choose to form your own trio?

I would choose up front my personal hero Keith Richards on guitar, the late great John Alec Entwistle to “Slapa da bass”, and Buddy Rich banging on the Tom Toms. I now give the power to you… if you could pick your own Fantasy Power Trio who would you pick?

Long Live The Power of Three

Favorite Wall?What is up?

Hope all is well and you had a great weekend… how nice was Sunday? Good times.

I don’t get very political because I like to have fun more than anything, but I think today marks a great day in history. The Berlin Wall was the ultimate symbol of the Cold War for 28 years.

So this brings me to my question… What is your favorite Wall?

The Great WALL of China… is the most famous wall of all. 6,400 kilometers long, it is the longest human-built structure ever. The first parts of the wall were built in the 5th century BC, and was added to and repaired through the 16th century.

The WALLS of Jericho… a finishing move preformed by WWE professional wrestler “The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla “, Chris Jericho.

The WALL by Pink Floyd… was recorded in 1979. ...

I Want Candy!

What is up?

Hope all is well!  I have a little "Tuck" shop in my building that sells cereal, milk, bread, and other little daily essentials... but they have a great little candy section that makes you feel like your sitting in Willy Wonka's living room.  So Kirsten asks if I could go down and grab some ginger ale and I pick it up, grab a red bull for the morning, and something caught my eye... I LOVE licorice!  It's awesome, cherry not black licorice.  So I grabbed a "NIB" licorice stick, the one with no hole in it just a solid stick of cherry goodness.  It was great, it tasted as it was made 20 minutes ago, a fresh licorice stick is a real treat.  I am now sitting in my condo waiting to eat dinner, and I can't stop thinking of an excuse to get me outta ...

Slap your way to comfort!
What is up?

Hope all is well. Yesterday on Derringer @ Your Desk we tested the Slap Chop for you and it passed with flying colours. We slapped chocolate, roast beef, Mike & Ike candy, un-cooked Kraft Dinner, Goldfish crackers, and raw eggs, a great little invention that will make you life easier.

What invention makes your life easier? For me it’s the T.V. converter… I love it. You are just sitting there, lounging on the couch and a commercial comes on a BAM… new channel, good times.

What invention in your life can you not live without or makes you life easier?

Long Live Convenience!

It Hurts on the Inside!
What is up?

Hope all is well. So today John talked about a man in Langley B.C who was minding his own business walking down the street when out of nowhere a woman comes up to him, loads up and kicks him right in his junk. I wish this gentleman a quick recovery and it also had to be a bit of a blow to the old ego. Have you ever had an embarrassing injury? Have you ever tried to jump a garbage can and broke your tailbone while having a little Capt. Morgan flowing through the veins?

I once rode my BMX bike into a brick wall and wrapped my junk around the handlebars. Let me know your embarrassing injury!

Long Live Recovery!

Words to WIN by!

What is up?

Hope you had a good halloween!  I would like to thank all the Q listeners for coming out and hanging with Jason, Steph, and myself for the Halloween Howl... even Ryan Parker came down to jam with Fried Alive (Kiss Tribute), and The Ozzybournes.  The costumes were outstanding and kudos to all the hard work everyone has out into them.

Ok, so your sitting there staring at the letters... you know there has has to be a word in there but you (on a regular basis) get smoked while playing scrabble.

Fear not my friends here are ten words that you can use when you have a mitt full of crappy letters.

1. Aa. And I don’t mean the acronym for Alcoholics Anonymous, either. Aa is “basaltic lava having a rough surface.”
2. Qat – a flowering plant native to East Africa and the ...
